    Welcome

Here at St Mary’s RC Primary school we have an Open Door policy and would love for you and your family to come in and take a look around.

Please contact us to arrange a visit on 01204 333625.

Consultation on admission arrangements for 2025

A consultation on our admission arrangements for the September 2025 intake will take place from Friday 17 November 2023 until Tuesday 2 January 2024. We are proposing changes to how we hold waiting lists for places.  For the reception intake, if your child is refused a place at our school we will continue to automatically add your child to the waiting list and this will be maintained until 31 December 2025.

However, we are changing the way we run waiting lists for in year admissions. If you apply in year and your child is refused a place, we are proposing that you would now need to ask for your child to be placed on a waiting list.  We are also proposing that the waiting list only be held for one term at a time.  We are making these changes to provide more stability for schools and to give parents more realistic expectations about the opportunity for gaining a place from a waiting list.

As the local authority are co-ordinating consultation on our behalf, full details of our proposed admission arrangements, details on the consultation and how to respond can be viewed at: https://bit.ly/Bolton_Consultation

All comments must be received by Tuesday 2 January.

Is there an application form I need to complete?

The application form that the parents/carers will be required to complete when requesting admission to a new school can be found under the downloads tab of this page together with the notes of guidance.

You must ensure your child’s continued attendance at their current school whilst your application is being considered however it is recognised that for families who have moved into Bolton this may not always be possible. You must in such circumstances inform the headteacher at their previous school of the arrangements you are making.
